GlamourDollEyes Halloween Collection 2013

Yea, so I seen a post from Zadidoll about the upcoming halloween collection from GDE a little over a week ago and jumped right on that.  I bought the 2 shadow collections which contains 4 shadows each in the perfectly adorable black bags with gold stars. Great for the theme
Anyways, when I got them in the mail, I fell head over heels and nearly cried over the fact when I went to get more, my fave color was SOLD OUT!  Tardy to the party I guess.
So here are the pictures of them in the bags and the Swatches!
Enjoy

GlamourDollEyes IG Shadows and more.

So I have been going bananas over Glamourdolleyes shadows. They are simply the best pigments I have tried next to MAC.  And as I have said before, I don't usually do pigments or loose shadows.
But here I am with yet another blog with more swatches of goodness for you eyecandy viewing pleasure.

These here are the IG (Instagram Girls) shadow collection made by girls on IG.  They were on sale so I bought alot, plus more is on it's way *I know, I am a makeup-a-holic*

Here are the swatches for these colors that I have so far!

From left to right:
  • Mermaid Kisses: A lovely very metallic and shimmery purple that reminds me of an amethyst
  • HayGirlHayy: An aquatic turquoise blue, this just pops at you very Caribbean oceanic
  • Mermaid Dreams: A shimmery aquatic green that looks like the fin of a mermaid
  • Vamp: A sexy Matte brick red that screams dried blood. This looks amazing for fall & holidays
These are so darned pigmented you barely need any to get this quality and this is with NO PRIMER!
Can you imagine having these colors over pigment or a NYX jumbo milk pencil?!
BAM!

I love these so far and have been using these to create a watercolor effect on my eyes with a small dab on my finger of Bi Facial Lancome makeup remover and smudging so lightly, it creates this awesome transformation that looks like a watercolor painting!

Next up!

Regular shadows for GDE
I seen this and just had to try them, such beautiful colors!
Take a Look!!

So pretty right?
From left to right
  • Dusk: A deep blue with lighter blue shimmer
  • Glam Girl: A soft shimmery purple with maybe lavender or silver undertones
  • FrankenGlamour: Such a toxic green! I love it. Voltageous! This has a slight yellow shimmer
  • Angel Wings: A beautiful soft radiant white shimmer with silver undertones
These are A-mazing...  Just saying

The packaging was super adorable and very festive
I have been using these like mad.
Usually Black on the Top lid and another color on the waterline for a smoldering look!

Josie Maran Argan Bright & Beautiful 6-pc. Natural Beauty Coll Fair/Light

I have never tried any of the Josie Maran products before, and seen this set on QVC, I was anxious to try it because you hear so many good things about "Argan Oil" since I have dry skin I figured this could be a miracle product for me lol.
Anyways, onto whats inside the big box!

Starting from the top then moving Left to Right
  • Josie Maran Foundation Brush in 001
  • Argan Oil .5 FL ounces/15 ML
  • Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation 1 fl oz/ 30 ML
  • Argan Brightening Face Balm with brush .30 oz/ 8.4g
  • Coconut Watercolor Cheek Jelly in "Island Pink" .18oz/5.1g
  • Argan Love your Lips Hydrating Lipstick in "Tickled Pink" .12oz
Lets get some Close Up's Shall we?

So lets get started.

I did try this as soon as I opened the box
The Argan oil feels like heaven on your skin when it needs to be quenched
Not too oily, not too watery, just right and my skin literally soaks it up but it leaves a baby soft feeling that makes you keep touching your face

Next I tried the Foundation with the brush.
The brush!!!  So soft, like whispers on your skin during application and it does apply well
The foundation comes out looking like white liquid but after going into your skin, it changes to your shade leaving a bright healthy looking glow
Good coverage as well, I would say a sheer medium coverage with a dewy look

The brightening balm is like a halo pressed into a compact
It is a wonderful highlighter on the skin.
Use this on the high planes or areas that need a bit more coverage
It is very creamy and not heavy
The brush is super soft and works well to apply

The cheek jelly is very sheer, almost no real pigmentation
It applies like a jelly stain but looks like a natural flush on the cheeks, it was so light that when I used the camera for a swatch it would not show.
I have to do a full face to show you what it does
It is beautiful when applied

The Lipstick is also very, very light
More so you get the oil than a color but it leaves your lips feeling lush and hydrated but with a hint of a lip flush color

In all I give this kit a 9/10
only because I thought the colors in the jelly and lipstick would be more bright, but I prefer it this way as you can look Au Natural
Retail Price: 85.00

ANNOUNCEMENT !!! New things to come from ASB!

Things have been very busy around here lately, new shipments coming in nearly everyday and new idea's popping around like bubbles in my brain.  I do have quite a few more reviews coming this week and the following weeks to come, but!!  Yes there is a BUT!

I have been pondering about a few things here and there. As you can see, I am a makeup lover.
I love being a Makeup Artist and MUB (Makeup Blogger)  but one of my dreams have been to start my own line of cosmetics!
I am a Vegan so of course my products would be Organic Au Natural..

First off on my list is to start early next year on this project, I am going to start crafting Lipsticks and Lip Butters in super cute tins that are easy to use. Don't get me wrong, I love tubes, but they melt, get messy and break easily, so why not tins?

My tins will have my personal insignia on the lip, possibly as a sticker, who knows, but the lipsticks will come with a mini lipstick brush for easy application.

The lip butters will be flavored, some will not be.  I will have 3-4 lines of different kinds
A Tinted Balm Collection
A Nude/Clear Flavored Balm Collection
A Kid friendly Tasty Collection
A Pure Fresh Collection.

I don't want to give out all the details yet of what will be coming, but it is going to be an amazing thing.

Also they will be very, very affordable and there will be samples available too, and I will be doing an Affiliates Program for other gurus and MUA's to affiliate me and get free products to review.

So that is the Major news that is going on right now.
I have a huge list compiled of products I need to buy to create this amazing line.
I hope to get a great following and good customers along the way.

And if anyone want's to become part of this and give me idea's or colors they would like made, feel free to contact me on the nav bar contact form.
If you make the color, the name of the balm/stick is up to you.

Thanks all and Have a Safe and Happy Halloween

Quick Tip: Make your own Sensitive skin facial exfoliate and Lip scrub

Let me just start off by saying in the winter months ahead, most peoples skin does tend to dry out and carry more dead skin than usual.
So I decided to give you my personal remedy that I make at home for you to try
This is for sensitive skin and is much lighter formulated than most exfoliates and safer without any additives

What you will need:
  • Natural Sugar (Not processed or granulated) You can find this in most health food stores
  • Lemongrass Extract (Meaning the fluid of the herb) Also at health food stores
  • Chamomile Extract
  • Lavender Extract
  • Coconut Oil
Now this specific recipe will last you for a while if you jar it correctly. You can buy small mason jars at your local Walmart or stores similar

Mind you, I prefer to use all organic materials and the Coconut oil you can get at Walmart called "Organix"

In a small bowl mix half a cup of sugar
Add 3 teaspoons of heated coconut oil (25 seconds in the microwave)
Add 1 teaspoon of lavender extract
Add 2 Teaspoons of Chamomile extract
Add 3 teaspoons of Lemongrass extract

Blend vigorously to mix ingredients well

If you have oily skin eliminate the Coconut oil and use Dried Orange peel ground up
It eliminates the oil by absorption

Add your mixture to a mason jar to save and store in a cool dry place

To use, swab a quarter sized amount onto your finger and rub gently but firm into your skin in clockwise motions to allow the dead skin to come off and new cells to rise.
Rinse with cool water and pat dry with a towel

Lip Scrub:

In a small container or bowl mix 2 Tablespoons of sugar
Add 1 tablespoon of heated coconut oil
Add 1 teaspoon of Peppermint oil/extract
mix well and apply to lips
to achieve a deep scrub to remove flakes, use a toothbrush is circular motion for 1 minute then rinse with warm water.
Add a lip balm afterwards.
This also helps plump lips especially with the peppermint

Hope you all enjoy this at home treat for skin and lips
More to come soon

Too Faced Lip Injection Color Bomb and Perfect lips Liner Review & Swatches

Too Faced is another company I really enjoy
I have never been let down by any product

These are another example of why I love them
  • Contains Vitamins A, C and E, mango butter and other key ingredients
  • Formula provides temporary lip-plumping beauty benefits
  • Moisturizing formula for softer-feeling and smoother-looking lips
  • Color and shine formula delivers a satiny color stain with a hint of shine
  • Provides long-lasting color

Never Enough Nude & Candy Burst
These have nice packaging and a good amount of product
They do go on smooth but if you have dry lips, I suggest a small amount of balm underneath these as they do dry slightly
Also maybe a gloss on top or balm to keep lips quenched

The Lipliner is amazing.
It is the perfect Nude color and I wore it with both colors
It goes on smooth and rich and stays put for hours

Here are the colors on my wrist
Never enough Nude and Candy Burst and Perfect Lips Nude Liner

Candy Burst With Nude Liner

Never ENough Nude with Nude Liner

The camera flash is on and the Nude color looks a bit dead, you can see it more in the swatches above

I give this an 8/10
for the dryness

This retails at $21.00

Benefit HIGH BEAM Complexion Enchancer Review & Swatch

I have to say I love Benefit products, they never fail me
I use the Watts Up highlighter, FakeUp Concealer and the Rockatuer Blush
Also for all my eyeshadow swatches I use the Stay Don't Stray Primer
To say the least they have great products and this is another that I fell in love with.
This satiny pink highlighter accents your cheekbones and brow bones for a radiant glow.
Use this on the high planes of your face for a pearlescent  look that makes you look like the light hits in all the right spots.

On the left side is the swatch that was not rubbed in so I could show a more thicker variation
*DO NOT USE PRODUCT THIS WAY ON YOUR FACE*
The right side is blended into the skin with a few rubs also with camera flash on so it looks like diamonds on my skin

But boy does it work and illuminates the areas you put it on. Very beautiful in soft lighting.
I recommend this during the evening for a moonlight glow under the stars

I give this a 9/10
For the fact that during the day it is a bit too shimmery
 this Retails at $26.00

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Wear Blush in Natural Beauty

I have never used Tarte blushes before because I have heard they dry out the skin and also are too pigmented for some people
SO I gave it a go and bought this shade in "Natural Beauty"
and boy is it PINK!
I normally would not get a shade so bright, I tend to stay more on a peach or pale pink side
but decided, eh what the heck!

The packaging is nice, and the pressed stamp is cute as well
I like the fact that it is in a compact with a mirror. I can never get enough of mirrors.
(vain much?)

It seems very sturdy and easy to open which I like.
ALso there is alot of the product inside, unlike most cosmetics where you get a thin layer and a huge compact

Here we are with the swatch. I slightly blended this in with my hand, maybe two light rubs and as you can see it is still very pigmented.
But alas you can easily blend this.
It is very creamy and not heavy whatsoever
It has a harsh pink shade with rose undertones but looks amazing on the apples of the cheeks for a pop of flush

I do not recommend using this to contour
I know some new to the makeup world use any blush to contour and shade which is not the case.

If this shade seems too dark. try a luminescent over it.
Like Benefit "High Beam" or M.A.C Mineralize sheer highlighter

It will appear softer and give it a diffused glow

I give this a 7/10
Basically because the pigmentation is a bit much and they should make these shades softer
These retail at $26.00

Tarte Kiss & Makeup 5-piece Holiday Amazonian ButterLipsticks Review & Swatches

I purchased these from QVC on a whim.  I normally dislike anything from Tarte because previous items had clogged my pores and made my skin even more dry than usually thanks to the amazonian clay.
But I heard they have reformulated their products since and I decided to give them a go with these.
I am a lipstick lover and found these to be quite enticing. You think "Butter" and automatically your mind says, "Soft, smooth, creamy"..
Well with that in mind. That is true with these lipsticks.
This set is amazing!!

They glide on like butta!!!   seriously.
And the smell! Oh so peppermint divine!  It smells like the holiday with each and everyone of these lush sticks

I adore the packaging. I like anything when it comes to different cases for products. I love M.A.C, don't get me wrong, but all the cases are the same. I have to open each one to see what color it is because the writing is so small I can never tell.
But these are individual and have their own color scheme.
Plus look how cute!!  The beautiful trees and flowers. It reminds me of something japanese.

Aren't these colors just beautiful?
Pigmented and glossy!!

Colors from left to right:
Candy Red: A delicious red that looks like a candied apple
Pink Poinsettia: A pouty pink that has a rose tint
Merry Berry: A lush berry color with a hint of mauve
Sweet Peach: This is a pink/peach that has a slight hint of coral to it
Angelic Nude: A lovely nude/ pale Taupe with a rose shimmer

I give these a 10/10
They are pigmented but they feel amazing on the lips, and with the addition of peppermint that gives it a buzz for plumping as well
And the packaging is awesome
These retail at $39.58

Mally Evercolor Eyeshadow Sticks Review & Swatches

Evercolor Stick in "TWILIGHT" show here

I have never tried any of Mally's products until a few days ago. I purchased them of QVC.com
because I was interested in the "Laura Mercier" Caviar sticks.
And I could not find those in any store near me to try them.
SO I decided to look for a copycat of those and found some amazing High Quality sticks in these.

I purchased 3 in the below shades

 From left to right:
Deep Plum: a very dark plum almost a prune color with metallic lighter purple undertones
Plum: a mauve plum with blue and purple undertones
Twilight: a light brown with very bright golden undertones

Here are the sticks when they are smudged

I love the effect they give, they are wonderful for a smoky eye and they blend so easily. These are creamy but with a velvet feeling and just with these swatches I had to use an eye makeup remover to take them off.
So when it comes to long lasting, these are a go to item

In all, I give these a 10/10
For long lasting highly pigmented color that is smooth and does not crease
These retail at $24.00 USD

I will be reviewing the collection from QVC shortly. I ordered a kit of these bad boys!!

Update and What's to come in November

Sorry its been a few weeks since I have last updated. I have been battling with a severe Kidney Infection and it has exhausted me to the brink of sleeping most of the day.  I am slowly starting to recover and writing out new blog ideas and reviews.
First off, I have a few things coming from Sephora to review, not much, but some lipsticks and glosses, since it is that time of year where I do start to wear lipstick instead of just a sheer gloss.

Secondly. I signed up to try and receive some Blog/Vlog samples from GlamourDollEyes.
I heard of this place through ZadiDoll, a well known beauty blogger so I thought I would give it a go, and I also made a few purchases as well.  So when that Arrives, or if I get a response from them, I will be doing a review.

So around Halloween I will be doing a huge review on a palette that I am enjoying tremendously.
The Kat Von D "Spellbinding" Palette and the 10 Kat Von D Mini Lipstick set.
Swatches for those all will be up before halloween.  ALso I will be doing an EOTD (eye of the day) Tutorial using those shadows.

November 1st is my birthday so I am going to also do a Birthday look as well. ;)

O have so many products that I have not reviewed yet that I am making plans for. So stay tuned for that.

On another note with my 2 Sub boxes Ipsy and Birchbox,  I have decided to drop Ipsy.
In my honest opinion I have never received anything worthy of keeping them. I continually get NYX Cosmetics, and yes, I know they are a popular brand among some, but being a makeup professional, I find the products to be cheap, not very pigmented and too powdery to stay on even using my primer.  I have bought plenty of NYX when it first became available and in all honesty, I do not prefer the brand. Plus Ipsy sends me things that I said I did not prefer to be in my bag. Such as BigSexyHair,  all the time. I wanted no hair products.  But every month there they are.  Ipsy seems more for those who are just starting out in the makeup world.

Birchbox on the other hand sends super small samples, BUT, they are more high end cosmetics, perfumes and skin care products and because of them I have found some things that I truly adore and that I purchased full sized from their website. Plus I love their points system.  And when it comes to any issues, they are immediate with a response and always deliver.  Whereas Ipsy, came broken, torn, busted and never even shipped me another product or refund.  Any company that has an issue with a client who's products were broken or missing upon arrival should correct their mistakes.

Anyways!  I seen this other sub box that is hella more expensive called "Wantable" but it is all full size and more high end.  So, I am giving that a try next month.

I really wish I could afford more different types of products to review for you all, but times are hard :)
So if any company would like to have their products honestly reviewed, swatched and used in a tutorial, send me an e-mail at
AshSangreMUA@aol.com  This is a business e-mail only.

Hope you all stay safe this Halloween season and keep loving makeup

XoXo
Ash
